What was once a niche area is now being adopted by a large number of people looking for new ways to generate money while spending time indoors.

Manufacturers are now recognizing this transition and are focusing more on gaming and gaming-centric gadgets. Dell, one of the leading PC manufacturers, also owns Alienware, one of the most recognized gaming companies. Q1. DELL’S PLANS FOR THE GAMING SEGMENT IN INDIA

According to Subramanya, Dell's goals for the gaming business in India are to continue the company's record of being at the vanguard of driving the industry in India. Subramanya, on the other hand, stated that any government initiatives or policies that benefit the gaming market will undoubtedly be beneficial (much like the Make in India and PLI programs benefit manufacturing), but refused to elaborate on the AVGC task force because it is still in its infancy.

In terms of crypto gaming and the Metaverse, Subramanya stated that Alienware and Dell do not yet have any metaverse or crypto-specific products. However, he pointed out that the gear produced by Alienware or Dell is already capable of assisting clients in completing whatever task they choose. Their key emphasis seems to be on bringing innovation to the PC so that users may benefit from high-performance and long-lasting devices that meet their needs. Their gear is adaptable to new technologies, and as long as the tasks are supported by their equipment, they will be able to complete any task. Do they have any plans to investigate crypto gaming or the metaverse? Currently, no, because the company's only focus is on creating the best gaming devices available.

Q4. ON DELL OR ALIENWARE’S ROLE IN THE GROWTH IN THE GAMING SECTOR IN INDIA

As Subramanya indicated before, the market expanded by roughly 67 percent, whereas they grew by over 116 percent. Mr. Subramanya attributed this to the fact that, since the COVID-19 pandemic started, the PC has become the focal point of many houses. Consumers used to have distinct devices for different jobs, he added, but today those borders are blurring and people want a more general multi-purpose PC.

What happened during the pandemic was that the computer became the focal point of many houses. People had a separate gadget for daily use and a separate gaming device. People now have just one gadget for all kinds of jobs: work, learning, and enjoyment; and a generic multifunctional device is what they've been demanding since the pandemic began. Gaming has become more popular within the last two years. Furthermore, many regard gaming as a "unifier," so there is no longer any stereotype associated with gaming. People of diverse ages, genders, and hobbies were seen playing games. As a result, there has been a growing market for gaming in general. Q7. ON CHIP SHORTAGE AND HOW DELL PLANS TO AVOID DISRUPTION IN THE SUPPLY CHAIN
